Vanessa van Hetten has been active in community development within tribal and Indigenous communities for the last 7 years. She has a dedication to developing business concepts and gender-& youth empowerment. Her passion for entrepreneurship is expressed through the ownership of a wellness business and a project development consultancy.

With a background in Business management, Business Law and growing interest for Heritage Tourism she continues to pursue strategies to strengthen communities in rural areas of Suriname and to amplify Suriname’s tourism development.
